2004 Sun Oct 3rd. 9.30 - 16.30. Fitness in Running and Walking (FiRW) course. Groby Community College. It is the equivalent to the level one coaching badge but is more relevant to road runners. Note that the FiRW course DOES NOT give you a Level One coaching qualification. The course is a stand alone module which enables individuals to lead a group in fitness, running and walking activities. The course can either be done as a stand alone module or it can also be taken as the optional module as part of the Level 2 qualification.

Trophies for the first few finishers. Room for changing at the Village Hall together with a hose pipe.
The pub will be open after the race.
New landlord - who will probably be prevailed upon to serve snacks at lunchtime.

KIMM A challenging 2-day Mountain event (the Elite course being 2 sequential marathon lengths) where a team of two navigate their way around a 2-day course, in mountainous terrain, in a new location each year, carrying all food stove tent and equipment for an overnight camp. 2007 Sat Oct 27-28th. OMM 2007 - 2 day adventure race. Formally known as KIMM. A challenging 2-day Mountain event (the Elite course being 2 sequential marathon lengths) where a team of two navigate their way around a 2-day course, in mountainous terrain, in a new location each year, carrying all food stove tent and equipment for an overnight camp. The final date commitment is made in February each year as the entry forms go out. Links page

Initial details; The event would comprise a session of coaching on Saturday organised by Level 3 BOF coach Judith Holt.
This would take place at Outwoods in Charnwood.
This would be followed on Sunday by the opportunity to go to an Orienteering event in Derbyshire to
practise your new found skills. We would share transport to get to this event.
The Saturday session will incur a small charge to cover map costs.
On the Sunday transport and entry fee shouldn't exceed about £12 provided we share cars.
You will need to look after your own refreshments.
